Pyramids are the most famous buildings of the Egyptian world. When the word "Egypt" is said, it is the Pyramids that come to mind instantly.

The original concept of the Pyramids were built as tombs for the country's Pharaohs and their consorts, during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods. But throughout Egypt's history, they have become more of a classic icon to Egypt, rather than a religious belief.

There are more than 80 Pyramids already found in Egypt today. Some are very much weathered and eroded, but many others are still in great shape. Those that have eroded away, can be re-constructed through the power of 3D animation. The most famous set of Pyramids are the Great Pyramids of Giza.

The Great Pyramids of Giza can be found at Giza on the outskirts of Cairo - the capital city of Egypt - but the ever expanding city, is destroying the breathtaking view of the Pyramids. This set contains 3 large Pyramids for the King and several small Pyramids for the Queens. They are adjacent to the famous Great Sphinx, which creates a spectacular view.

The 3 were constructed for the Pharaoh Khufu of the Fourth Dynasty.
